The 1st year of issue for the first-ever mint state silver eagle available direct to the public from the U.S. Mint. This BU issue carries the distinctive "W" mint mark from the West Point mint and also has a burnished planchet. The U.S. Mint cut production short and caught everyone off-guard thereby creating an instant rarity. The coins offered here are MS-69 examples certified by PCGS.
